What We Do
The Junior Committee, Alzheimer's Association - NYC Chapter
activities are as diverse and interesting as its members. A sampling:
- The first Alzheimer's support group solely for young adults—free of charge and open to all, established in conjunction with the New York City Chapter;
- Annual fall cocktail hour to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research and awareness of the disease;
- Annual spring gala benefit for the same purpose;
- Volunteer sessions at a long-term care facility for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients;
- Monthly meetings, often featuring experts’ presentations on topics ranging from stem cell research to Alzheimer’s advocacy;
- Lobbying in Albany, NY and Washington D.C. for funds for Alzheimer’s
